By NCVC Staff | Published on Oct 10, 2023

Are you looking for a simple and effective way to improve the health of your hair? Look no further than a hair rinse! Adding a hair rinse to your hair care routine can provide that extra dose of natural goodness, strengthening your hair and keeping your scalp clean. Plus, it leaves your hair looking lustrous and free of tangles!

But not all hair rinses are created equal. The best hair rinse is one made from natural ingredients that you can find right at home. If you want hair that is not only lustrous but also healthy, we recommend trying the marigold and tea tree oil hair rinse.

Here’s why marigold is great for your hair

You’ve probably seen the bright yellow marigold flower, also known as calendula, as a decorative element at festivals or in gardens. But did you know that it can also be a valuable addition to your hair care routine? Marigold is known for its healing properties, acting as an antifungal solution and moisturizing the scalp. Here’s how it benefits your hair health:

    • Reducing dandruff
    • Treating an irritated and itchy scalp
    • Promoting healthy hair growth by addressing scalp issues like dandruff
    • Hydrating your tresses for a natural radiance

The benefits of tea tree oil for your hair

Tea tree oil is renowned for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. Additionally, it can improve blood circulation in the scalp, ensuring healthy hair growth and keeping scalp infections, including dandruff, at bay. It’s an excellent way to boost the overall health of your scalp and hair.

How to make your own marigold and tea tree hair rinse

    Ingredients

    • 3 to 4 dried marigold flowers
    • 10 to 12 drops of tea tree oil
    • 250 ml of water

    Preparation

    1. Start by drying the marigold flowers. Once dried, crush the petals to create a paste. Alternatively, you can purchase marigold flower powder from the market.
    2. Add the marigold powder to a teaspoon of water and mix in 10 to 12 drops of tea tree oil. Ensure thorough mixing. Note: It is crucial to dilute the mixture to avoid scalp damage.
    3. Add 250 ml of warm water to the paste-like mixture of marigold flowers and tea tree oil, creating your homemade hair rinse.

How to use the hair rinse

    1. After washing your hair, pour the hair rinse onto your scalp and along the length of your tresses.
    2. Gently massage it into your scalp for better absorption.
    3. Allow it to sit for 3 to 5 minutes, similar to a conditioner.
    4. Rinse it out with warm water. There’s no need to use shampoo afterward. Alternatively, you can strain out the particles immediately after preparing the hair rinse and simply pour it over your tresses after shampooing, eliminating the need for an additional rinse.

For noticeable improvements in your hair health, incorporate this hair rinse into your routine at least once or twice a week. Take advantage of the powerful combination of marigold and tea tree oil to provide your hair with the nourishment it deserves!
