    When it comes to fitness, the definition tends to be subjective. Each person has their own unique perspective on what it means to be fit. For some, it may revolve around having a toned physique, while for others, it might be about achieving specific weightlifting goals. However, true fitness encompasses much more than these individual aspects.

    In reality, fitness is a holistic combination of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It is the harmonious convergence of these elements that truly defines our overall fitness. To shed light on this multifaceted concept, we’ve reached out to seven millennial Indian women to understand what fitness means to them. Here’s what they had to say:

    Fitness is Staying Energized

    Kritika, a PR executive, shares her perspective on fitness. She confesses that her initial view of fitness was solely centered around weight loss and fitting into stylish dresses. However, as she matured, she realized that being thin alone did not equate to being fit. For her, fitness means having the energy to take on life’s challenges. Physical fitness, in her opinion, hinges on staying energized and feeling vitalized.

    Fitness is Not Just Physical, but Mental Health Too

    Vanshika, an air hostess, emphasizes that fitness should not be limited to the physical realm alone. While many automatically associate fitness with hitting the gym and engaging in rigorous workouts, she believes that mental fitness is equally crucial. Without a strong and resilient mental state, physical fitness becomes meaningless. Vanshika advocates for taking care of both our minds and bodies to achieve true fitness.

    Fitness is Having Fun

    Rosedeep, a dancer, takes a refreshing approach to fitness. She firmly believes that the journey to fitness should be enjoyable. According to her, if we don’t find pleasure in our fitness routine, it becomes challenging to sustain and achieve desired results. So, Rosedeep encourages everyone to find joy in their fitness activities, as it can make a significant difference in our overall well-being.

    Fitness is Understanding Your Body

    Kiran Kamra, a professor, shares her personal experience with fitness. She highlights the importance of selecting exercises that suit our individual body types. It’s not just about enhancing our appearance, but also about feeling good. Kiran confesses that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and cardio sessions never worked for her. However, when she discovered yoga, it not only made her physically fit but also greatly improved her overall well-being. Based on her journey, she emphasizes the significance of choosing exercises that resonate with our bodies.

    Fitness Means Better Immunity

    Vineeta, a fitness enthusiast, delves into the relationship between fitness and immunity. She questions the purpose of rigorous workouts if our bodies remain susceptible to various illnesses. In her view, true fitness encompasses having a robust immune system. Vineeta believes that fitness should contribute to enhancing our body’s ability to resist diseases.

    Fitness is Endurance

    Sakshi, a content writer, emphasizes the importance of endurance in fitness. She observes that many individuals spend hours at the gym but struggle with basic tasks like touching their toes or doing push-ups. According to Sakshi, endurance and agility are essential for optimal body functioning. She emphasizes that without these qualities, one cannot truly be fit.

    Staying Fit Means Feeling Good

    Shikha Taneja, a marketing specialist, shares her perspective on fitness. For her, feeling good is a vital aspect of fitness. Unlike solely focusing on physical appearance, Shikha stresses the significance of the feel-good factor. She questions the approach of her tired friends who consistently push themselves at the gym without considering the needs of their bodies. Shikha believes that true fitness should leave us feeling invigorated and positive after a rigorous session.
