    “Meditation is my sanity pill”, says Paatal Lok actor Anindita Bose

    Bengali actress Anindita Bose has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry with her powerful performances in popular OTT shows such as “Paatal Lok” and “Ray”. In a recent interview with Health Shots, Bose opens up about her journey from Bengali cinema to the world of web series, the secret to her good physical and mental health, and how she deals with social media trolls.

    An illustrious journey

    Bose’s journey in the industry started in 2009 with her entry into Bengali cinema. Her body of work showcases her versatility and refusal to conform to stereotypes, whether on the big screen or elsewhere.

    “Many actors like me believed that we didn’t have many opportunities in this industry. However, things have changed. Actors, directors, and writers are experimenting more today, and that has given me the opportunity to take this leap,” says Bose. She adds that despite facing rejections, she continues to pursue her passion because she believes that the right role will come her way eventually.

    Dealing with controversies

    As an artist, Bose understands that criticism is inevitable when a piece of art is on display. She compares her work to a painting, acknowledging that people may interpret it differently.

    “When I create a painting, I put my heart and soul into it, but I can never predict how people will react. Some may not understand it, while others may find it great. It can evoke different emotions in different people. That’s the same with any kind of creative work. In my mind, I believe in the greatness of my work, even if not everyone shares the same opinion,” she explains.

    Bose believes that it is essential to take everything with a pinch of salt and not let external opinions affect her artistic expression.

    Keeping mental and physical health in check

    To maintain her physical and mental well-being, Bose relies on meditation. It has become her go-to tool over the last two years, helping her stay grounded and focused.

    “I start my day with a 10 to 15-minute meditation session. I also have a strong support system – my parents and my sisters – who are always there for me. Physical health is crucial in our profession, so I make it a part of my lifestyle by going for walks and practicing Pilates or yoga,” says Bose.

    She emphasizes that focusing on her eating patterns has also had a significant impact on her overall well-being.

    Social media and mental health

    With the rise of social media, public scrutiny towards celebrities has increased. Bose admits feeling unsettled during the transition because of the pressure to maintain visibility.

    “Do I feel the pressure to constantly put out new content? Yes, I do, and I succumb to it. However, I have found a balance where I don’t care about the number of likes or followers. What matters to me is my performance and the content I deliver,” Bose reveals.

    While social media and trolling often go hand in hand, Bose has managed to avoid being a victim most of the time. Although she has experienced body shaming in the past, she has reached a point where it no longer affects her because she loves herself just the way she is.

    A word of advice

    As a role model for many, Bose encourages women to love and accept themselves fully. Her advice is simple: “Girls, love yourself unconditionally. The purest form of love is accepting yourself exactly as you are. Don’t change anything about yourself because of societal standards or other people’s opinions. Be your own boss!”

    Bose’s journey and outlook serve as an inspiration to anyone striving for success in the entertainment industry. Through meditation and self-love, she has found a way to navigate the challenges of fame and maintain her mental well-being, setting an example for others to follow.
