NCVBA Mourns the Loss of Howard Twiggs

The NCVBA mourns the loss of our friend Howard Twiggs, recipient of our 2006 Frank Carrington Champion of Civil Justice Award and indefatigable servant to victims of crime. Whether as a state legislator or as one of the country's most respected and successful trial lawyers, Howard Twiggs repeatedly stood up for victims and used the legal system as a powerful tool for securing justice and leveling the playing field. Throughout his career, he represented a number of crime victim clients in inadequate security matters, and secured justice for countless other victims of wrongful conduct, whether they suffered catastrophic physical injuries or financial harms resulting from fraudulent conduct. Time and again his actions consistently served as a catalyst to make loud and clear the voices of victims everywhere. Howard is unforgettable, and will be greatly missed.
