Marketing and Meeting Planner Internship
The National Center for Victims of Crime is the
nation's leading resource and advocacy organization for victims of crime, and is
committed to helping them rebuild their lives. We are seeking a reliable
college student interested in an unpaid internship in meeting planning at a
non-profit organization, between 10-15 hours a week, flexible with start and end
dates. The intern will work with the Meetings and Events Manager on our upcoming national conference, with over 800 attendees, scheduled for
June 22-24, 2009 in Washington, DC.
Meeting Planning
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate speaker's presentations for conference CD;
- Assist with dissemination of information to workshop speakers and
facilitators;
- Coordinate
speaker and facilitator information for the program;

Process conference registrations;
- Assist with supervision of on-site tasks; may
supervise registration;
- Assist with other meeting planning and administrative duties as they
occur.
Marketing Responsibilities:
- Assist with procurement of conference amenities and supplies;
- Assist with marketing research for conference attendees;
- Design marketing materials, including e-mails and postcards;
- Assist with marketing conference sponsorships to
potential sponsors
Requirements:
- Highly organized; Able to multi-task/manage time efficiently and effectively;

Public Policy Internship
National non-profit resource and

intern.
The Public
Policy Division of the National Center for Victims of Crime promotes
policies that advance the rights and interests of crime victims. We are
seeking someone with a quick mind, excellent organizational skills, a sense of

Public Policy.

Legislative Internship
National non-profit resource and advocacy center for victims of crime
seeks a legislative law intern.
The Public
Policy Division of the National Center for Victims of Crime tracks all state and
federal laws that relate to the rights and interests of victims of crime.
We use this information to provide technical assistance to policy makers and
victim advocates at the state and federal level, draft model legislation, advise
crime victims of their legal rights; educate the media and general public about
the rights and interests of crime victims, and train those who work with victims
of crime. This position reports to the Director of Public Policy and
provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on policy work.
Responsibilities may include:

relating to crime victims rights,
including court interpretation;
- Developing comparative analysis of state laws affecting crime victims
- Drafting written materials regarding current policy issues
- Attending congressional hearings on legislation of interest to victims of
